Short answers
Do I need a German representative?
Applicants without residence or seat in Germany need a representative before the DPMA. We act as your representative.
Patent or utility model?
A utility model is registered without substantive examination, usually within weeks, for up to ten years. A patent is examined and protects for up to twenty years.
Can I extend abroad later?
Yes – within twelve months you can claim the priority of your first filing for EP or PCT applications.
Do you take over pending applications?
Yes – German, European and PCT proceedings, including deadline monitoring.
